Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) recently participated in a mangrove forest revival project in honour of HM Queen Sirikit’s 84th birthday anniversary on 12 August 2016. From February to August 2016, THAI’s on-board service managers and flight managers planted 840,000 sprouts at the 15th Military Circle, Muang District, Phetchaburi Province.

The number of mangrove forests are rapidly decreasing due partially to aquaculture, agriculture, and ore mining, and this project was inspired by Her Majesty the Queen’s idea to restore and develop mangrove forests. The campaign, which is in line with THAI’s Travel Green policy, aims to raise awareness among the public sector, private sector, and general citizens about the importance of mangrove forests on our ecosystem.
