THAI Supports Agricultural Produce from the Southern Provinces
THAI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Community Organization (for Self-sufficiency in Southern Thailand) to aid farmers in Southern Thailand to transport agricultural produce to markets, to support agricultural development, and to heighten awareness of agriculture in the South. The project is based on The King’s principle of Sufficiency Economy, which encourages local farmers to grow organic vegetables without resorting to artificial substances. The project invites airlines to play a role in sustainable development and aims to lead society on positive path. THAI believes that the sustainable growth of the company is directly linked to the development of society and the local environment as a whole.
THAI will also stresses the concept of “Benefit of the Whole” while leading the project, which follows the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, under the overall Travel Green concept. The policy contains three main activities: social activity, social support projects, and environmental projects. The latest MOU is part of THAI’s ongoing commitment to help the Southern region with initiatives such as “TAHI Spreads Love along Southern Border” and the Haj Pilgrimage Flight project.
