TG Travel Green Innovation
Thai Airways International recently organised the first TG Travel Green Innovation Competition, with the aim of encouraging young people to be innovative in the area of green innovation. The competition goals were to create environmentally friendly innovations and products that may be used in the aircraft and to create a network for youth who have an interest in designing environmentally innovations and products.
Individual students and two-member student teams, under the guidance of their respective professor advisors from 18 institutions across the country, submitted 72 projects in any of the three categories: Aviation Design Idea, Product Design and Facilitating Convenience in Aviation, and Design for Service Provision Procedure in Airline Business.
First place winners in each category were awarded a field trip on THAI from Bangkok to Paris, as well as a visit to the Airbus aircraft manufacturing center in Toulouse, France, sponsored by Airbus. Second place winners received a trip to Japan, and third place winners received a trip to Chiang Mai. Moreover, the 24 short-listed candidates were invited to visit Thai Airways International’s Technical Department to observe how the department operates.
The panel of judges included representatives from Airbus, the National Innovation Agency, the Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University, the Faculty of Architecture at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Ladkrabang, and THAI.
