The design and the construction of THAI’s office buildings adhere to two main principles – energy efficiency and environment friendliness. Green technology has been implemented to control lighting, elevators as well as cooling systems. In addition, fat filtration and waste water treatment systems have been installed to save energy while simultaneously reducing waste. These eco-friendly practices enabled THAI’s office buildings to receive the Green Office Award (Gold level) from H.E. General Prayut Chan-ocha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on the occasion of “Thai Environment Day and National volunteer Day for Natural resources and Environment Preservation 2015.” The event was organised by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP) and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, to honour organisations that meet the excellence standards for green offices.
Since 2006, THAI has ensured office building are designed with facilities to accommodate disabled visitors and employees in line with international standards including slopes, designated parking spaces, sidewalks, accessible toilets, elevators and handrails. An annual budget for facilitating the disable has continuously been allocated. In recognition of these consistent efforts, THAI’s Operations Center (OPC) in Suvarnabhumi International Airport received an award for the best building that provides accessibility to the disabled; THAI’s office in Laksi also received an award for good accessibility from H.E. Police General Adul Saengsingkaew, Minister of Social Development and Human Security. The event was held by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in conjunction with a study conducted in 2015 on the impact of suitable environment for the elderly and disabled. The Department of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, organised the project to study, follow up, and select building that provide facilities for disabled tenants and visitors.
